Conclusion
I am PROBABLY not the best source, if you have come here looking for someone to support your belief that opioids are evil. I don’t buy into the Media contrived controversy that says “Using Opiates for Pain Relief is a last result and always causes pain to others. “ I’ve been taking them regularly for 20 years and changed only because the end goals for pain relief are DIFFERENT in my Mid 50s as opposed to my MID 30’s, plus the hospital closed the clinic I was originally a member of and no one else would take responsibility for that high dose.
And although I didn’t think so at the time, that's OK. What isnt OK, is the fact that I went so long without someone telling me that if I would only lose weight than all my medicines could decrease (like my Blood Pressure for example). But again this is ME, you have to ask your own questions. I will tell you that I can point you to a book that when studied and followed precisely did allow me to NOT use opiates for pain control, unfortunately I admit I am not habitual enough to follow that every day 2x a day for the rest of my life, that could change.
Non-opioid pain relief medications may offer a safer and more effective alternative to opioids for managing chronic pain. They have a lower risk of addiction and overdose, fewer side effects, and the potential to address the underlying causes of pain. With a wider range of options available, non-opioid medications provide a personalized approach to pain management, empowering patients to take control of their health and well-being.
In the quest for effective pain management, non-opioid medications offer a viable and often preferable alternative to opioids. They reduce the risk of addiction, have fewer side effects, and can be just as effective in managing chronic pain. By incorporating non-opioid pain relievers into a broader pain management strategy, patients can achieve better health outcomes and an improved quality of life. As we continue to navigate the complexities of pain treatment, it's essential to recognize the value of non-opioid options and consider them as part of a holistic approach to chronic pain management.
Non-opioid medications are an invaluable tool in the chronic pain management toolkit. They provide effective relief for a wide range of pain types, carry fewer risks of dependency and cognitive impairment, and are well-suited for long-term use and multimodal approaches. While opioids may still have their place in managing severe or acute pain, expanding the use of non-opioid options ensures a safer and more balanced approach to pain care.
By focusing on the strengths of non-opioid treatments and their ability to complement other therapies, patients and providers can work together to find solutions that minimize risks while prioritizing quality of life. Chronic pain is complex, but with the right tools and strategies, it can be managed effectively and responsibly.
HOWEVER this is not to say that non opiates are the BEST treatment for everyone, there are many variables involved. SO please if you or someone you know is on an opioid regimen do not look down on them, or whisper behind their backs, they're not junkies. As you know in the world of social media, one bad apple can destroy an entire industry, and its hard enough to get the medicine I need on a regular basis, and missing a dose is NOT a pleasant thing. Just look at them and think to yourself, “Wow how badly would I have to hurt to need THAT kind of medicine?” That's what that person is experiencing.

While many folks may find problems with the very core of Dr. Wrights book, beliefs and methods I will tell you that as a believe this book, when studied and taken to heart works for me. In time of great crisis I still turn back and re-read sections for immediate help. Additionally I believe so strongly n his work I have purchased and given away almost a dozen copies to friends, loved ones and family members when they too were in times of great crisis. Dr. Wright does have a clinic to support some of which you will hear about in this book, but at its root, if this doesn’t work for you at home, I don’t know that me traveling will add anything more to it.
